The Departments of Economics and Asian
Studies at Furman University
invite applications for a
tenure-track
position at the Assistant Professor level, beginning August 2009. We
seek an
individual who can teach an undergraduate-level course on the Economics
of
China as well as introductory economics and economics electives related
to the
economies of Asia. Completion or near completion of Ph.D. is required.
Ample
experience in China, an advanced level of Chinese language ability, and
a
willingness to take part in the university study abroad
programs in
China are
essential.
Furman
University is a private,
highly selective liberal arts college of about 2,600 residential
students
located in the city of Greenville,
South Carolina, which is situated in
the
foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains within a short driving distance
of
Charlotte, Atlanta, and Asheville. The teaching load is five courses
per year.
