On Monday,
April 4, at 3:30pm in Burgiss Theater, Professor
Claudia Goldin of Harvard University will deliver the 2005 American Enterprise
Lecture.
Professor Goldin's talk is titled "The Long Road to the Fast Track:
Career and Family." It concerns the history of women's attempts
to combine career and family with an emphasis on some relatively recent
cohorts.
Her research interests include the economic histories of education,
income, inequality, immigration,
technological change, and the interrelationships among them,
particularly for the United States in the 19th and 20th centuries and
beyond.
In additon to her public lecture, Professor Goldin will
address a Senior Seminar in Economics class and will meet with students
and faculty for informal conversations.
