The Virtual
Trade Mission comprises students and faculty from around the world
who meet at the location of the annual meetings of APEC (Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation)
in order to learn more about the issues facing APEC today.
Students interview trade ministers and other dignitaries from APEC
countries and work together to create a digital video of their
experiences.
This
year, senior Mathematics-Economics major Jordan Teague participated in
the Virtual Trade Mission program in Santiago Chile. She
accompanied faculty members Ken Peterson (Economics), Cleve Fraser
(Political Science), and Political Science students Monica Handa, Amer
Ahmad, Cindy Youssef, Chris Schoen, Dan Ennis, and Mike Overby to
Santiago in November. Furman University's VTM project is
coordinated through the Richard
W. Riley Institute at Furman.
For more information, contact Ken Peterson in the
Department of Economics.
