The Virtual
Trade Mission brings together students and faculty from the member
economies of APEC (Asia Pacific Economic
Cooperation)
in order to learn more about the issues facing APEC today. Students
interview trade ministers, business executives, and other dignitaries
from APEC
countries at the site of the annual CEO Summit, and they document their
reflections on the conversations, interviews, and meetings that are
part of their APEC experience on a blog during the
conference and on a website after the Summit is over.
This
year, junior Economics-Political Science double major Kristen
Capogrossi joins Furman students Daniella Fergusson, Webb McArthur, Ke
Ji, intern Cindy Youssef and Political Science faculty member
Brent Nelsen in Hanoi, Vietnam for events that surround the CEO
Summit. Furman University's VTM project is
coordinated through the Richard
W. Riley Institute at Furman.
